Very common in the xeric and mesoxeric
steppe grasslands from Moldavia and Transylvania, however never
populating the calcareous low altitude mountains with the exception
of the northern tip of Trascau Mountains (Cheile Turzii, Cheile
Tureni areas) where the steppe grasslands take an intimate contact
with the limestones in the mountains.
